Our Wedding Photo/Video Gallery

It was hours, days, weeks, months, and finally years and here we are! Having the love of your life joining you on the impeccable event of your life is so significant that it's worth sharing with family and friends.

Our wedding took place on October 8th 2011, at St. Gaspar Church and Shrine, Mbezi Beach and later at the great Kunduchi Beach Hotel in Dar-es-Salaam Tanzania. We cannot thank enough our friends and family who were very involved in the cordination to make sure that our special day was a success.

Our special thanks would go to Father Benedict who planned and came all the way from USA to officiate our wedding. Father Benedict has been there for us since we got engaged in January 2008. We also appreciate Fr. Patrick Kimaro and Father Tom for assisting Fr. Benedict.

Many thanks to Uncle Frank Makwaia for the love and kindness you have on us. You have done everything that Joseph, your brother, could have done on his daughter's wedding day. I am proud to have had you in that position. I am sure dad is proud of you!

Thank you Kaka Teddy (Chief Makwaia) for accepting and carrying us through the entire time of preparations and the wedding day. Thank you wifi Ester for the delicious food you prepared for us on the introduction day, send off and dinner at your place. Words cannot explain our sincere gratitudes.

Thanks to Baba and Mama Malale for letting us use your residence for the send off party. We really enjoyed to be on that beautiful garden at home.

Friends and family in Tanzania had played a large part in making sure that everything went smooth. We would like to recognise the committee which was made once we arrived in Dar on Sep. 27th. Thanks to Makwaya, Makwaya, Mr. & Mrs. Kaganda, Swedi, Hilda, Mrs. Kazimoto, Francis Makwaia, Amini Mshana, Wande, Elizabeth, and all others who organised the event.

We would love to thank the whole family of Makwaia from Shinyanga, including our mothers and fathers from Mwadui, that we had longed to see them again.

We would also like to thank the Westfall family, Glen and Kyung Izett, and Mr. and Mrs. Bazzard for traveling miles from USA to Tanzania for this special occasion. We understand that you all had other responsibilites during the time of our wedding and yet you chose to join us in Tanzania. Thank you much.

Thank you Ms. Mary Mdachi for traveling from Tunisia specifically for this event. We understand that you had to go for meetins in Kigali Rwanda but you made sure that our day was reserved.

Thank you Apaisaria from London, Sylvana from The Netherlands, Edith Singine, and Jacqueline Twissa, Sandra Omary, Daniela Rutashongerwa, who came just for our wedding. It really means a lot to us.

We thank best man Glen Izett and our maid of honor Elizabeth Kalikawe. We also thank the brides maids Joey Westfall, Sylvana Lubuva, Flora Singine, Sandra Omari, Rither Makwaia, and Kyung Izett. Thanks to the groomsmen George Westfall, Calvin Makwaia, Francis Makwaia, Jarrett Westfall, Brandon Westfall, and Peter Kazaura.

Many more thanks are directed to Angela Bonde our MC for the lovely job you did that night. Also, thank you Helen for taking our cake design and transforming to the the marvellous, very tasty fountain of fruit cake that took everyone's breath away. You worked your magic and delivered my dream cake. Thank you a lot.

Without a solid team involving Marge, Jackie, Hilda, Betty, Sylvana, Apaisaria, Edith, Eliza, Rither, Paschal, and others, the reception hall could have not looked the way it did. You finished the worked we started to transform the place and I cannot thank you enough. I remember going to bed at 2am and left you guys working on flowers and Saturday morning you were untouchable! You worked hard and we really appreciate that. Also, thanks to Dada Margareth for the prayer.

We would like to thank the management at Kunduchi Beach Hotel especially Madam Winnie and George for working with us throughout the preparations. We were accomodated very well and all our guests were happy. The food was unbelievable, plenty and in varieties. We felt a bit embarased to have left all that food at the end. You know we loved everything you prepared for us.

We would like to convey our special thanks to Tumi Mwinthupa from Botswana who could not make it but had all the plans to attend. You communicated with us from Botswana right before you learned that you had to come to US for the meeting around the time of our wedding. You tried your best to squeeze yourself to be able to travel and arrive on Friday but you couldn't. Thank you so much for that. We would like to also thank Joyce Shange, whom had other commitments in South Africa right before our wedding and could not make it. Thank you Joyce.

We love to extend our special thanks to Eric's Mom Rita, Auntie Sandy, "Cookie", Sherry, Mike and Ciara and the rest of the family for the beautiful gifts you gave us for our wedding. Though you could not make it to Tanzania, you found a way to surprise us on Thanksgiving dinner with champagne and presents. Thanks to you all.

Thanks to all our guests who joined us in the church and the reception. We wish we could recognise each one of you by name and have all the pictures. We know that we are missing a lot of faces that were with us that night. Unfortunately we cannot go back and fix what we missed. In our hearts, you are always special and thank you for coming. Please enjoy our pictures taken by GRM Photography.
